What you should know as a patient at Sparkling Dental

Dear, loyal patients,

You may have heard too much about Coronavirus (COVID-19) by now, but we would like you to know what it means for you as a patient at Sparkling Dental as this pandemic unfolds.

The Federal Health Minister’s office has confirmed that essential health services including dental will continue to operate as normal. There is no current advice or mandate from the Federal Government, AHPRA, or the Dental Board that suggests dental services should be limited or ceased.

Strict Infection Protocol
At Sparkling Dental, on top of the strict infection protocol that we already have in place, extra steps and precautions are implemented to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Benchtop is wiped with alcohol between each user before your use.
  • Pens will be wiped with alcohol between each user before your use.
  • Door handle at front entrance is wiped down with alcohol every 15 minutes.
  • Hand sanitisers with 70% alcohol is available at the Front Desk and we ask all persons entering into the practice to use it before proceeding to check in.
  • All hard surfaces are wiped down constantly during the day.
  • All magazines and toys have been removed temporarily.

PATIENTS and anyone with them, will not be allowed to enter the premises if they have been overseas within the last 14 days. Appointments will be deferred for 2 weeks.

PATIENTS and anyone with them will not be allowed to enter the premises if they have ANY of the following symptoms (regardless of travel history):

fever
cough
wide-spread body aches (flu-like)
sore throat
stuffy/runny nose
vomiting
diarrhoea
They must not attend until they have been 100% well for at least 48 hours or have a negative Coronavirus test.

All visitors, couriers, family/friends that attend with patients will be entered into a log book.

You will be referred to RNSH for management if you think you have been infected with COVID-19.

We will be adhering closely to the government and Australian Dental Association guidelines. Rest assured that your safety is paramount to us and we are doing all that we can.
