Will Composite Veneers Look Natural?

If you would like to improve the look of your smile but you aren’t interested in spending a great deal of time on more invasive cosmetic dentistry treatments, composite veneers may be an option for you. Many patients choose composite veneers to brighten the appearance of their smiles or to conceal spacing issues, chips or cracks in their teeth.

What Are Composite Veneers?

Unlike porcelain veneers that are created in a dental lab, composite veneers can be made in your dentist’s office and often applied in one dental visit. We use composite veneers to conceal dental imperfections by placing a thin layer of resin over the front side of your teeth, giving you a more seamless smile.

Do Composite Veneers Look Natural?

The composite resin used for your composite veneers is a porous material, so it will stain the same way your natural teeth will. So, as your tooth colour changes, so will your composite veneers.

Your dentist in Neutral Bay can use their artistic skills to create veneers that will look natural and resemble your teeth, only without the imperfections.

How Long Will Composite Veneers Last?

The better you care for your veneers, the longer they will last. The following factors should be taken into consideration when caring for your veneers:

Brushing and flossing – Be sure to brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day.

Food choices – If you eat foods that can stain your teeth, those same foods will stain your composite veneers.

Beverage choices – If you drink beverages that can stain your teeth or contain acids, your veneers will stain and may not last as long. Avoid sugary drinks, sodas, wine, coffee and tea. However, if you rinse your mouth after drinking these beverages, you can avoid stains and wear on your composite veneers.
